Lovely ladies

This Sunday afternoon, I took a day off from work and went to watch a movie "Hula Girls" with a friend. Fantastic movie. Very touching and inspiring. It inspired me to do my best for each day and made me think that if you believe very strongly in something, it will come true.

Before the movie, I had a nice conversation with my friend over a delicious dim sum brekkie. He told me about his past relationships and how his ex girlfriends treated him. It made me think about Singaporean ladies. He said that his ex girlfriend used to throw tantrums at him for everything and the reason she gave for throwing the tantrums was "This is a test for you. Only if you can stand my tantrums then there's chance that we can be talking about marriage." To think he actually accepted the reason! It was only until she cheated on him twice that he realised that it was the last straw for him. Quite a horrible lady from the way it sounded, isn't it?

Well if my friend was telling a very unbiased story, then I really think that his ex girlfriend is a horrible girlfriend to have. It made me think again about our local ladies. Are we really that unreasonable, materialistic and (some say) unattractive?

Probably the society has a part to play. Today, the ladies in Singapore are earning as much and as educated as their male counterparts. The ladies are tough, taking care of the family as well as supplementing the family expenses. Perhaps this drives the women folk to be more realistic and not as innocent as ladies from other countries. In a man, they look for what the guy can offer them rather than what they can offer to the guy. But I think once they are married, they are really dedicated to the family and can be fantastic wives.

Another point about our ladies not being attractive enough compared to the other Asians, well... I think its just a matter of preference. Singapore is a tropical country. The sun is super strong throughout the year. We are fortunate not to have natural disaster, but unfortunate not to have any change in seasons. Thus for guys who like ladies with snow skin, the local ladies might not be able to fit the bill. Secondly, the hot weather dampens the mood for fashion and you really won't see a change in dressing style (no boots, no nice winter minks). This is being deemed as boring.

I have travelled quite extensively in the past and through my observation, every country has its fair share of lovely ladies...

If you meet a gorgeous woman, would you really care where she hails from? (^~^)

Rabbits Attack!

I think this is such a funny scene. Rabbits! Thats what they called the 36 people who were in white costumes hanging on the wires. Isn't that just hilarious?

Anyway the Singapore Arts Festival opening was pretty fun, made spectacular with the fireworks. Look at the above for proof =)

Appreciation of Simple things in Life

Have you ever felt low, down and out? Have you tried to lift up your head and look at the beautiful blue sky when you are feeling down?

The sky, so blue, with the glorious white clouds, is so beautiful. Suddenly you realise that you are not feeling down anymore!

A man while walking on the street of New York City with his friend, stopped in his tracks suddenly. His friend asked him " What are you doing there?" He replied, "Nothing, I just love the breeze against my face"

Life can be so surprisingly simple.

Blood Diamond

Went to the Mercedes Movie Event screening "Blood Diamond" starring Leonardo Dicaprio (Danny Archer), Jeniffer Connelly (Maddy) and Djimon Hounsou last Friday. I must say that this is really a good movie. I was really touched, especially by the love between Archer and Maddy. Its so sad that they couldnt be together in the end huh? And to have Archer dying in the beautiful landscape of Africa... His blond hair set against the late afternoon sunglow...Its a nice scene (A little sadist right?)
So ladies, no more conflict diamond okay? That applies to the guys too ok? See Beckham there with his big 10 carats diamond ear studs... Tsk Tsk..

To digress a little, I find the Leonardo now full of character unlike the skinny boy he was in Titanic. Very cool and attractive!

Adam Scott

Its funny whenever someone asks me "who's your favourite actor?" or "which actor do you think is really good looking?", I can never come up with an answer for it.

But, there is this really really good looking and talented golfer that you should check out. To me, he's better than any actor. He is the sun-kissed, young and multi-millionaire Australian golfer, Adam Scott. He's got such a impeccable sense of style (good old English style with sponsor Burberry), he's living your dream life. Sigh... Some people just got it all..

Look at him. How could you not like him?...

Your Song

Recently im hooked onto this song, Your Song. I must have listened to it for over 50 times, watched it on You tube for 10 times.

Your Song

It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide

I don't have much money
but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do

My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple
but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind
that I put down in words
How wonderful life is
while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and
kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well
they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind
while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on
So excuse me forgetting
but these things I do
You see I've forgotten
if they're green or they're blue

Anyway the thing is
what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

The first delivery

Hi again...

Today i did the delivery of my 1st car sold. It was a very cute looking champagne-coloured B200. When i first saw it, i almost felt like tearing. You wont believe it. I guess that's why they call it "delivery". The car carried with it so much emotion that i have experienced during the month stay with my present company. So much. I bet the owner probably didnt know how much their car meant to me.

It was the only order i took that was smooth-sailing. The other 2, though fantastic, didnt materialise. In this month's time, my emotions have gone up and down like a roller-coaster ride and i have only myself to depend on. One of my colleagues have been extremely encouraging to me and Im very grateful to him for all the help he has rendered me. Sometimes when i think back, my life has changed so much since my flying days. I still havent regretted crossing over to car trade because this is really what i wanted to do for a long time.
But sometimes when i sit back and think hard... Maybe this trade wont be my career either. Its still too early to say but i know that i would want to have a family and i would definitely want to spend quality time with my husband and children. If being in the car trade means i gotta work sat and sun and still have people hounding me in the middle of the night, then probably i would need to consider a job change.

Anyhow its still early to talk about that now.

Back to my work. As i have said, things have been quite good and things have turned quiet again now. My manager hasnt been very friendly to me recently and i know he isnt too pleased with me now. All because of that stupid sat when i got the time of the duty wrong! I seriously didnt know that the showroom opens as normal weekday hours as saturday! So i came in at the time of Sun and my manager was very unhappy with me. I think i need to work doubly hard to bring in the sale and to build up his confidence in me again that i am a trustworthy employee.
